Do You Pay Too Much For The Life Fitness Treadmill Name?

Posted in Fitness and Wellness |

Most fitness enthusiasts (and even some not-so-enthusiastic types) have heard about the LifeFitness treadmill. After all, LifeFitness treadmills are one of the most famous pieces of exercise equipment available in today’s fitness market place. And while a hundred people praise the brand to the hilt, another hundred can be found who find that the LifeFitness treadmill is more about hype than anything else. So are LifeFitness treadmills really all they’re cracked up to be?

Professional reviewers and consumers alike have accused the Life Fitness treadmill of relying more on a carefully marketed brand name than a well constructed treadmill, but for every Life Fitness treadmill detractor out there, you will find an exerciser who just loves their Life Fitness treadmill. It is certainly difficult to find the middle ground between the enthusiasts and naysayers, but there does appear to be some common ground upon which the fitness equipment consumer can find a purchasing perch.

LifeFitness treadmills sit comfortably in the higher price bracket of the treadmill world, and this is reflected in their sleek design and commercial looks. The Life Fitness treadmill would not be out of place in a commercial gym, and their treadmills indeed grace many such fitness emporiums with their glossy looks. This presence points towards a general consensus reached by both LifeFitness treadmill supporters and detractors alike - the Life Fitness treadmill is better suited to the professional exerciser than the novice. While the higher price tag might be enough to put novice fitness gurus off their treadmills, the higher spec features should indicate that the Life Fitness treadmill is better suited to the long-term exerciser who wishes to invest in a more advanced piece of equipment.

Despite the fact that the LifeFitness treadmills are often the first choice of the professional gym, it is, in fact, not always the top recommendation of the seasoned runner. The brand name is however recognisable to many consumers, and this familiarity is converted into LifeFitness treadmills purchases at a high rate. And while the professionals might not like the Life Fitness treadmills, consumers certainly do, as any perusal of the consumer reviews their treadmills will illustrate. In the end, this might be the most important consideration when purchasing a LifeFitness treadmill - that the people who have purchased them before you think that they hit the right exercising spot.

Humankind is never going to universally agree about anything, and the LifeFitness treadmill in the perfect example of this. But the people who use the Life Fitness treadmill can’t be wrong - and they are telling you that the these treadmills are a hit.

Treadmills: my arch nemesis

As a general rule, I avoid treadmills…at ALL costs. I find them boring, slow, and generally quite repulsive. Unfortunately, Colorado weather has been at odds with me, and on occasion, the gale force winds have forced me indoors. Much to my chagrin. I seriously debate my options of running OUTdoors and literally being blown off the trail or running INdoors and literally counting down the seconds to when the run is over. What is it about wind that just pisses me off so much? Is it the fact that the run feels more like a resistance workout, when I don’t necessarily want one? Is it the fact that I don’t like tumbleweeds rolling into me and scratching my legs? Is it that fact that even through sunglasses, the wind hits my eyes and they just water and water? Despite the use of wind as a power source, I find that it is good for very few things…flying kites and sailing.

Okay, okay, back to treadmills. I’m perturbed to report that I’ve run on the treadmill…too many times in the past few weeks. I feel almost like a running “snob” because I dislike the machine THAT much. Yet, I have friends who swear by it, and prefer to run on it. God, help them. ;) For me, it makes time drag. There is just nothing like the feeling of being out on the open road or trail enjoying the beauty of nature. Experiencing the elements, save the wind, is part of the fun of running.

For me, treadmills are the arch nemesis of running. It’s like Lex Luther to Superman, Joker to Batman, Zoom to The Flash, Dormammu to Dr. Strange, Black Manta to Aquaman….you get the idea.

I can only hope for some reprieve in the next 5.5 weeks of my Boston Marathon training. Otherwise, it’ll be a long 5.5 weeks…yeah, right.

Thinking about purchasing a treadmill? I was and honestly it took me about a month to finally decide on one. There are so many different options and price ranges. You see the real inexpensive ones that start about $150 and then all the way up to commercial grade quality to $5000. I settled on one that goes for $1200.

After doing my research if this is something you believe you are really going to stick with and use regularly to help your self feel healthier, get in shape and to shed pounds to lose weight I recommend staying away for the low end price models.

The treadmill I ended up with has an incline of 12%. I recommend you get one that goes to at least 10%. The mph goes to 12%, this I would recommend at least 7%. What else do you need to consider? I like the space saver models. You can just fold them up and put them against the wall. Be aware thou even folded they are still pretty bulky if you get one with a good size track.

The treadmill I got comes with ifit technology which I was a little skeptical about until I tried it. It is really awesome. You go online and answer some simple questions plug your computer or laptop into the treadmill that uses ifit and it automatically controls your exercise routine. Controls speeds and inclines. If you are new at exercising I highly recommend getting a treadmill with this feature. It is like having your own personal trainer.

I have tried many types of exercise machines and a treadmill by far is my favorite.
